With stopwatch in hand, Denise Pearce keeps a keen eye on one of her athletes at the recent 22-6A track meet. She made her debut for the 1992 cross country campaign and has been a mainstay in Pasadena High School coaching circles ever since.
After her perch at countless parks, school grounds and a handful of stadiums, Denise Pearce, Pasadena High School’s longtime girls cross country and track and field coach, has reached the finish line.
Pearce made this past Wednesday her final day as a Pasadena ISD coach, ending the tremendous tally of 26 seasons as a Lady Eagles coach, one of the longest ever of any Pasadena ISD coach.
With a home under construction somewhere in the picturesque hill country, Pearce will put her aside and begin admiring other things in life.
